Early start this morning for our road trip to Bowen & Gloucester. Jude was tour director & navigator today & Dean driver!
First stop was in Bowen for a part at Super Cheap that Tony was after for the tow bar - Jude & I took the opportunity to duck into an Op Shop we were parked in front of, but not much time to shop. A tour around Bowen & found some beautiful beaches!
Next stop was Horseshoe Bay - very pretty beach for swimming & snorkling, lots of people sun baking as it was about 27 deg. Quick walk along the beach.
Toured on to Dingo Beach, just a few shacks/homes, beach, general store & The Dingo Pub. Had a great meal here & was beautiful a warm sitting outside.
Continuing on our trip we found Hideaway Bay, Gloucester Resort- beautiful place for swimming, pool over looking the beach & restaurant with beautiful views (friends Patti & Kel took us here for lunch last time we were in Airlie)
Would have been a nice place to have a coffee here but we were all too full from lunch so we decided to head back to Airlie for coffee! Unfortunately the place we were going was closed but did look at the Marina which looked spectacular with the sun shining on the yachts & cruisers.
Home for 1 quick happy hour drink, eggs for dinner & early to bed as we have to leave here at 6.30am in the morning to get on our Whitsunday Cruise to Hamilton Island & Whitehaven Beach.
