Rainbow Beach - Fresh Water 4WD Track

After our morning meeting we headed off to get permits to enter the Cooloola National Park for our 4WD trip.

After making a packed lunch we ventured to the 4WD Fresh WaterTrack which looked ok to begin with but then got quite bumpy & windy.    Took us about 40 mins - which seemed longer with all the bumps & having to pull over to the side for on coming cars!

Finally arrived at a picnic area where we had a quick stop for the toilet & watched monitors (big Goannas) try & get the tourists food.   Jude & I walked right around them.

The lady in this picture wasn’t game to put her feet on the ground as there was a huge monitor sitting under the table 🥴.

Another short drive over the sand & we were on the beach,  very picturesque

Drove along the sand listening to the waves & found a spot for our packed lunch.    A little windy but sitting by the cars it was quite warm.

Back along the same track home - lots off manoeuvring off the track to avoid on coming cars, but was a lot of fun.   Bit taxing on the old body though being bounced around!

A few photos of cars that have been bogged or stranded by the tides where we drove today 🥴🤦‍♀️

Had a quick look at the surf in Rainbow Beach but too windy so a quick stop at the supermarket, back to the van for coffee & get ready for dinner tonight at the Pub.

All our meals were great, a few good wines but didn’t manage to win the meat raffle🥴
