Later time leaving this morning as Jude & I were given another 1/2 hour to wash our hair 🤣 a quick bakery stop for bread & coffee, fuel & on the road again. Passed through Rockhampton - not quite as relaxing being in the traffic. A very slow caravan in front of us today & held up lots of traffic. We hoping no- one thought it was us!
Finally stopped for our lunch along the side of the road in a huge open area. Of course Tony spotted wood for our fire so Dean got his saw out & they started cutting up pieces for our fire 🔥
Seemed a long day in the car today but have arrived at Brandy Bottle campground in the sun - 24 deg so set up camp & had a coffee in the sun. This afternoon’s topic was “what are we going to cook for dinner tonight?”
Our camp host, Jackie, is very friendly & layback. Allowed us a fire as long as it was not directly on the grass. While Tony got our fire going (he was fire monitor tonight) Jude & I had a quick look around the campground. Jackie has lots of golf clubs you can borrow to play golf ⛳️ on the campground, a bar & lots of picnic tables around.. Lovely palm trees 🌴 & well kept grounds.
We sat around another nice fire until it was time to cook our steaks on the fire. We had another great meal tonight.
