Brandy Bottle Campground- Day 2 - Rain

A little rain last night but nice hearing it on the roof of the van.    Woke to rain this morning though & quite heavy, very tropical rain.   Lazy morning - scrambled eggs on toast & usual cleanup & then over to the bar area for our meeting & coffee under shelter.   Today’s Agenda items were - “where will our next camp be & are we cooking our lamb shanks in the camp oven in the rain under our awnings? “ 🤣 lots to decide today !

Our meeting, coffee, Anzac biscuits, lots of discussions & yelling over the rain so we could be heard ☔️😲

The rain was quite heavy all morning - no golf today ⛳️

These are the clubs & balls anyone can borrow & play the course where we are camped.

We headed back to our vans after our meeting in between showers for lunch.  There is now water all around our vans, but the temperature is warm & the rain quite pleasant.

There was so much rain Tony had to empty the cover of his standup board as it was full of water 💦🤨

Lazy afternoon although it went very quickly.    Decided to put the camp oven around 3pm ready for our dinner at 6pm.    Dean organised our heat beads & browned the shanks before adding to our camp oven.    While they were slowly cooking we enjoyed a coffee, boys practiced their music & then had a few wines while sitting around our camp oven.

The lamb shanks were sensational with a great mash, peas & carrots.   We were all every full 😜.

Even the boys chewed on the bones to make sure nothing was left 🤣

Finished our wines, dishes & bed ready for another day.  Rain has all but stopped so hoping tomorrow will be better as we are shifting to another camp.
