Woke to cool weather but had plenty of sun streaming under our awning for breakfast. Was a lazy morning watching the caravans leave & new ones come into the park! It is a very busy park! Tony & Dean both decided time for a haircut & then Tony & Andy went to a camp shop looking for caravan parts.
After lunch Jude & I had a stroll through the shops at Cottontree but didn’t purchase much. The clouds rolled in & looked like rain so headed back to the van before the rain. Andy & Jenny decided on a walk along the river & a coffee. Ended up chatting for some time to a couple in the park just passing our van 🤣
Tony & I headed out for dinner tonight to meet a couple of friends, Karen & Mark, who we met caravanning at Mataranka 12 years ago & as they were new to caravanning then, they asked us if they could tag along with us for awhile. We had a great few weeks travelling together.
Karen & I had an immediate bond as she had breast cancer at the same time as me! It is always comforting talking to someone who has been through the same journey as me! Mark & Tony both bought didgeridoo’s together at Bitter Springs so they both had fun learning around the camp fires 🔥
Tonight we met at their Caravan Park as it had a Bar around their pool & restaurant where we could eat.
Unfortunately Monday they had a food van in the park so headed to the Waterfront Hotel, Diddillibah for a meal instead. Was a great night & it was like we had only seen them last week, not 12 years ago 🥴 We have kept in in contact through Facebook & Messenger over the years!
