Morning in Hay was crispy cold but nice 🥶
Quick food shop in Hay for fruit & vegetables now we are in NSW. It has been a bit of a juggling game on what vege we need & how much before we cross borders. First stop was Goolgowie for a coffee at an interesting fuel stop & average coffee.
A lot of rain was expected today bu we were were hoping to set up camp on the lake before it came. Had a reasonable amount of rain on our travels but luckily stopped by the time we arrived in Lake Cargelligo. Filled up our tanks with water at the Information Centre - Dean had to wait till a truck emptied his load before he could turn into the Information Centre, then the dump point to empty toilets.
Still no rain so managed to set up camp on the Lake before the rain, however the wind has come up so not sure about our camp fire yet or what we will eat tonight.
Jude & I in our Oodies trying to work out if we could have a fire 🔥 An hour later decided we would try a fire to keep warm & cook dinner.
We took a gamble & enjoyed a fire where we enjoyed a few wines, cooked sausages & onions to eat in our van as it was starting to get windy again & while we were in the van we had thunder & lightning & some rain but at least we got our dinner cooked.
Joe arrived selling his home made puddings but we will try them at next camp when we can buy cream & custard.
Sitting behind the van out of the wind in our Oodies 🤣
Sausages & onions for dinner 😀🔥
